Concerning the projection system specifications, the BenQ i500 is brighter with a brightness of 500 ANSI (BenQ SU917 has 5,000 ANSI) whereas the BenQ i500 has a lower contrast of 100,000:1 than the BenQ SU917 having 7,000:1. The BenQ i500 projector has a better resolution of 1280x800 with a throw of 0.8 - 2.7 , while the BenQ SU917 has only 1920x1200 with a throw of 1.3 - 8.8 .
