Comparison of both projectors: Hitachi CP-AW2505 vs Hitachi CP-WU5505The Hitachi CP-AW2505 was released in June 2015; the Hitachi CP-WU5505 arrived in the market in March 2016.
Concerning the projection system specifications, the Hitachi CP-AW2505 has a low brightness (2,700 ANSI) compared to the brightness of the Hitachi CP-WU5505: 5,000 ANSI whereas both projectors have a contrast of 10,000:1. The Hitachi CP-AW2505 projector has a better resolution of 1280x800 with a throw of 0.4 - 0.6 , while the Hitachi CP-WU5505 has only 1920x1200 with a throw of 1.5 - 9.1 .
As for the image system, the Hitachi CP-AW2505 doesn't have the vertical shift, but the Hitachi CP-WU5505 has it, and both projectors have the vertical lens shift and the horizontal shift, which means that you can put your projector at a place somewhat on the side of the screen and above or under it.. None of the projectors have the 3d mode.
