Comparison of both projectors: NEC ME401X vs NEC P502HThe NEC ME401X was released in January 2017; the NEC P502H arrived in the market in November 2015.
Concerning the projection system specifications, the NEC ME401X has a low brightness (4,000 ANSI) compared to the brightness of the NEC P502H: 5,000 ANSI whereas the NEC ME401X has a lower contrast of 12,000:1 than the NEC P502H having 6,000:1. The NEC ME401X projector has a better resolution of 1024x768 with a throw of 1.3 - 7.9 , while the NEC P502H has only 1920x1080 with a throw of 1.4 - 8.2 .
As for the image system, the NEC ME401X doesn't have the vertical shift, but the NEC P502H has it, and both projectors have the vertical lens shift and the horizontal shift, which means that you can put your projector at a place somewhat on the side of the screen and above or under it.. None of the projectors have the 3d mode.
