Concerning the projection system specifications, the Optoma W515 is brighter with a brightness of 6,000 ANSI (Optoma X460 has 4,800 ANSI ) whereas the Optoma W515 has a higher contrast of 10,000:1, the Optoma X460 having only 20,000:1 . The Optoma W515 has a lower resolution of 1280x800 than the Optoma X460 having 1024x768.
As for the image system, the Optoma W515 has the vertical shift, but the Optoma X460 doesn't, and both projectors have the vertical lens shift and the horizontal shift, which means that you can put your projector at a place somewhat on the side of the screen and above or under it..Both projectors have the 3d mode.
