Concerning the projection system specifications, the Sony VPL-EX455 is brighter with a brightness of 3,600 ANSI (Sony VPL-SX236 has 3,300 ANSI) whereas the Sony VPL-EX455 has a lower contrast of 20,000:1 than the Sony VPL-SX236 having 3,000:1. Both projectors have a resolution of 1024x768
As for the image system, both projectors don't have the vertical lens shift nor the horizontal shift, and both projectors have the vertical keystone, but none has the an horizontal keystone correction, which means that you have to put the projector in front of the screen, but it can be fixed on the ceiling or placed on a table, lower than the screen.
